Camps

Camps are a popular activity for majority of camps. There are three main camps held throughout the year; Easter, Summer and Autumn, the main camp is the summer camp. The location of the summer camp will be held changes every year to offer cadets a varied experience each year. The camp lasts one week and will either be classified a blue or green camp and you go with around 30 other cadets from around the wing.

Blue Camps

A blue camp is a camp where the main uniform that will be worn is the standard working blue uniform of a cadet; trousers/skirt and shirt. Although mainly a blues camp, greens (combats, known as DPMs) are normally taken for some activities. Activities that you can expect to get up to on a blues camp include; flying, section visits on the RAF base, trips out to museums, drill, night exercise, shooting.

Greens Camps

A green camp is a camp where the main uniform will be DPMs (combat clothing) and are generally much more adventurous with activities such as shooting, kayaking, canoeing, climbing, walking, mountain biking, high ropes and more.

Camps will also incorporate social activities such as discos, quizzes and bowling. Although a strict routine is in place with waking up and meal times going on camp is an exciting and busy week that you will come home exhausted but happy from.
